Muladhara, also known as the First, Base or Root Chakra, is located at the base of the spine, the pelvic floor and the first three vertebrae.
The root chakra’s color is red and element is earth. Muladhara is the foundation for your body’s energy system. It is said that the kundalini energy begins here. Spiritually, the base chakra has to do with protection of individual integrity. The basic issues associated with the root chakra are instinct, safety, survival, abundance, earth connection, physical energy, grounding, family, security, boundaries, passion, kundalini, and new beginnings.
